How does NRL finals work 2023? ›

The winners of the elimination finals will go on to face the losers of the qualifying finals away from home in the second week of the finals. These two games are semi-finals to decide which sides will advance to the preliminary final stage where they will join the winners of the qualifying finals back in week one.

In week one of finals the first-placed team (Panthers) hosted fourth place (Warriors), with Penrith winning. Second-placed Broncos hosted third-placed Storm and won 26-0. The winner of each game gets a week off.

The 2023 NRL season is deep into the finals. After 27 rounds of action, the top eight teams have been battling it out over the month of September, with just four sides remaining.

While water is the priority fluid during training and for hydration during the day, and in most matches, sports drinks may be useful during a game for players identified as having high energy requirements or heavy fluid losses as they can deliver some carbohydrates and electrolytes.

Any permitted liquids must be in receptacles that are not made of glass, metal or other breakable material.

A Patron must not, without the prior written consent of an Organiser, have in their possession at an Event, or bring into an Event any: alcoholic beverage (unless purchased at the Event); glass bottle, glass container, or can (unless purchased at the Event);

All stadiums ask that you only eat outside food in your seat, rather than bringing it into suites or other on-site dining establishments. And if you do want to bring in, say, an apple, most places require you to have that piece of fruit or veg sectioned and sliced to ensure there's no funny business.

Your backpacks will be searched, and anything deemed dangerous will be confiscated. Food (sandwiches in a bag, crisps, etc) should be fine. Glass bottles are a no no, and aluminum cans could be a problem.

With the exception of small quantities of non-commercially produced/packaged food items for personal consumption (such as sandwiches or small kids' snacks), food must not be brought to the stadium. This includes any kind of packaged sweet or salty snack, such as crisps, biscuits, snack bars, etc.

Only clear plastic bags that do not exceed 12" x 12" x 6" and wristlets sized 6.5" x 4.5" or smaller that comply with the Cleveland Browns Stadium Bag Policy are allowed into the stadium on all ticketed event and game days.
